I received the following form letter from the CA Attorney General last week in response to a complaint that I filed with the AG a several weeks ago.
I personally think this is a pretty lame response, especially the paragraph: “We have forwarded a copy of your letter along with an inquiry from our office to the company you are concerned about. Hopefully, this will elicit from them a response which we will all find satisfactory.”
For sure GISOL will have to respond to the AG’s letter but I’m sure they will wait as long as they can and then simply refute all allegations of fraud. The AG will then forward me a copy of GISOL’s response asking me to respond. This to and fro could go on for months, even years, allowing GISOL more time to continue their criminal behavior.
Perhaps I’m being too negative but I am very disappointed that the AG’s letter was so feeble; as if a letter from the AG is going to affect the behavior of these seasoned criminals. Maybe some one else can read more into the AG’s letter. If so I’d be glad to hear it.

Letter from California Attorney General
April 7, 2008
Re: Global Intenet Solutions
Dear
Thank you for bringing your consumer complaint to the attention of Attorney General Edmund G. Brown Jr. Often, it is only through letters from concerned and responsible citizens, like you, that our office becomes aware of consumer problems.
You should be aware that California state laws do not allow us to represent private individuals in personal civil matters. However, in cases of statewide significance, we can bring legal action against a company when substative evidence is presented to us supporting allegations that a firm has violated California law.
We have forwarded a copy of your letter along with an inquiry from our office to the company you are concerned about. Hopefully, this will elicit from them a response which we will all find satisfactory.
Again, thank you for contacting our office and giving us the opportunity to assist you in this matter.
Sincerely
M. Scot
Public Inquiry Unit
For: Edmund G. Brown Jr.

Sorry, but due to Gisol trying to post comments, they are now being moderated. They will appear ASAP.
I am encouraged. It is going to be a long struggle I think, but we have to keep going.
Individual complaints will be easy for Gisol to refute, but the more complaints the AGO get, the more chance we have of them realising there is a BIG problem. As they say, in cases of statewide significance, they will take action.
Keep up the fight! Report Gisol!
In Minnesota the Attorney General’s Office filed charges with the FTC for violation of FTC Code claiming that pagecreators.com was acting deceptively. The specific issues were that they charged for excess bandwidth which may or not have been used, this included unauthorized credit card charges.
I am going through the process with the California Attorney General also. The response I received from GISOL through the AGO was that I had acted in bad faith, I had failed to comply with the contract in that I had stated that I was unable to make necessary upgrades to my “old and outdated” website, that that is not the responsibility of GISOL and I therefore requested my site be suspended. This is such a farce. My dispute with GISOL is over billing issues and the consequent “Debtor Suspension” of my web site. They had tried to bill unauthorized charges on old credit card information, this while they had my $1078 payment and a credit showing on my account of $881.00. They are trying to bill an additional $19.99 monthly and have shut the site down monthly from Oct to Dec. Finally in Jan, after the site had been in Suspension for about three weeks and the old impossible to communicate routine, I was finally able to talk to Shawn who insisted that the only way to avoid the site being shut down monthly was to send another $1078 to set up another site and cancel the existing site??? He would then issue a “cash” refund, but he also refused to send a written agreement. Well, there is no way I will be sending more money because there is an internal problem and the only way to correct it is to send more money? Shaun yelled at me and refused service, the site has been down since Jan.11, 2008.
The trick is to prove that G”ISOL is operating a deceptive business, that is the Code that enabled Minnesota to shut down pagecreators.
Your response from GISOL will be somewhat canned, as are their trouble tickets, and it will probably state that they are not a deceptive company. The burden of proof on proving deception will be up to the complainant. I think the BBB F Rating will go a long way in this issue.
STRENGTH IN NUMBERS - the more cases the CA AGO has to inquire of GISOL about, the closer we are to their intolerance of the COmpany, so while it may seem like a lame response, I assure you that it counts for something. Thank you for filing and I hope that hundreds of others are doing likewise.
